We all thoroughly enjoyed the trip and you are correct that we all slept very well that evening.
Both Tom and Claire enjoyed the challenge of kayaking in the rough sea and particularly enjoyed their first attempt at snorkelling.

All the best

Hi Paul.
I am sitting in my office looking out at blowing snow (we are due for 15 cm. today) and thinking that I like your life better than mine to-day. Just want to thank you for a great day on the China Sea.... it will form a memorable part of my overall China trip.
Cheers and keep well

I don't know if you remember of my name,
I'm Pascal. I was with the two other French people
(Nathalie and her boyfriend) at the walk of last Saturday
in Sai Kung Country Park.
It's true that when you talk about Hong Kong in Europe,
people don't imagine highlands with remote villages,
beaches with white sand. But it is this aspect which makes
me want to come back to Hong Kong.

I also want to say to you that we appreciated very
sincerely your way of presenting nature and the local
people, your way of respecting nature and efforts you made
to be within our reach (particularly as for the language.!).
Very sincerely

Paul, just a brief note to thank you for a wonderful day last Friday...it certainly exceeded our expectations...even the weather cooperated! I was looking for a somewhat different hiking experience and we definitely got one! The photos turned out really well, so we have some wonderful memories of the day. Liz was amazed how easy it was to get away from the hustle of HK...a nice surprise.
Again, many thanks...you can be sure that I will happily pass your name on to any other hikers heading to HK. I know it was good for us to hear from others who had done the hike!)

John and Liz Spencer

Paul, I wanted to thank you for a great Kayaking trip. I think you offer a
unique perspective on Hong Kong and I wish you luck on your venture. I will
tell all my friends, who frequently pass through Hong Kong about your
services. I spent two nights and Lantau. I'll contact you about doing a hike
there next time I'm in town. Best of luck!

Thanks for the most enjoyable day I spent in Hong Kong. It was fun wandering your home territory and getting an idea of what youj are trying to build. As we put together the Hong Kong program, we will definitely be in touch with you to talk about fitting in your program in with ours. There is no doubt we will stay in touch. Hopefully, you had time to check out our website - www.mythsandmountains.com. It will give you a better idea of what we do.

Take care,
Toni

Thank you for putting together the kayak trip.

It was really fun. Thank you for being a nice leader, brought us the nice

lunch.

Take care

Claudia & Brian

Thank you very much for providing us the two kayaks and the best talent we
can have for the video. With the most beautiful setting in Yan Chau Tong,
every shot looks great. We have finished editing the video and will
present it to AFCD next week. When the final video comes out in the next
two months. We will give you and Graham a copy.

It was such a wonderful experience that I would like to go out again. Wait
till the weather is more settled, I will try to organise a group to join
in.

Thanks once again to you and Graham and hope we will meet up again soon.

Best wishes,

Christina

Many thanks for the photos and your hospitality on our trip. It was the
highlight of the holiday and I'm sure we'll be in touch again to do the
hike or more kayaking when we're next in HK.
Hope your environmental projects also take off...it may a while but I'm
sure will show some success.

With best wishes
Nick

Just wanted to thank you for your Christmas e-mail and wish you a belated
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year... Have not seen my friend Cynthia
lately, but we will never forget the awesome kayaking tour yuou gave us when
we visited Hong Kong.

Thanks again-

Thanks very much for the photos. Even more so, thanks for a fascinating, memorable and altogether enjoyable day. You are a great guide and excellent company .
Best regards.
Arthur

Thanks so much for the great pictures, everyone really enjoyed them. We had a great day out, Jill and John have never done anything like it and really had a fantastic time.
And I do want to especially thank you for doing everything that you are doing for Hong Kong. I am really impressed by your persistance - it must be such a frustrating uphill battle much of the time, especially because you seem to be really the only person in Hong Kong doing what you are doing, but thank you for trying to change things on behalf of everyone who enjoys the gorgeous nature that Hong Kong has to offer! Everywhere I travel in Asia I feel extremely hopeful about "ecotourism," at least when I see ecotourism companies that truly care about giving back to the local communities where they operate.
I am again impressed by how gorgeous it was out there, and thankful that there are people who are actively concerned about cleaning up and protecting the area.
Looking forward to checking out the new location when you move.
Best, Mina

Thank you for a wonderful day on your kayaking trip. The whole day was
extremely well organised and the kayaking experience will remain with us for
many a year to come. I still cannot believe we kayaked 9km to an island and
back! Thanks again Paul, you have given us some great memories.

Best wishes

Thks for this, and for the excellent pix.

I really enjoyed meeting you, and the day. It has really expanded my understanding of the place.
all the best and thks

Thanks so much for sending the pictures from our day of hiking. We loved them. I told you during the day that it would probably end up being our favorite day of the 10 day vacation and it certainly was. The ability to explore the road less traveled during the course of the hike was amazing, and allowed us a different view from that of the rest of the trip. As the pictures can attest, we felt like we had discovered our own private paradise (complete with secluded beach). You can't get any better than that.
If the Hong Kong tourist board is not yet aware of the treasure they have in the country parks region, it would be a shame. I would imagine that through tour companies such as yours they are becoming aware of the unique offering they have right in their backyard. I hope that going forward they do their best to protect and work with the environment to help preserve it as best they can (I remember some of the polystyrene washed up on shore, and hope efforts are underway to help defend the land against such things).
Amy and I both appreciate your efforts (especially just taking the 2 of us out), and have sworn if we ever get back to the region, our priority will be to take another day with your company. Next time, we may even get adventurous and go kayaking.
Thanks again,

Dear Ms. Low

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful visit to Hong Kong and
would like to share with you the incredible tour guide we found through
both your materials and the Internet. We connected with Paul
Etherington (www.kayak-and-hike.com) and it absolutely made the perfect
trip for us.

Paul is a British fellow who has lived in Hong Kong for over 20 years,
really knows the country and the rural regions of Hong Kong and has
excellent equipment. Paul picked us up from our hotel(and dropped us
off every day) in a very well equipped van. We went mountain biking (on
very high quality mountain bikes with helmets provided), hiking to some
extraordinary locations in the eastern New Territories and extensive sea
kayaking with very good kayaks including life jackets, wetsuits, etc.
He even took us to lunch every trip at local village seafood
restaurants. Paul's speciality is small groups (like us) and a very
personal touch on the trips. We felt like he was a member of our family
after two weeks and invited him to come and visit us and stay at our
house in Salt Lake City.

Paul's information is in the excellent materials you sent us (thank
you for those) - but I just wanted to make sure that you knew that he is
a real gem and well worth recommending to Hong Kong visitors who don't
just want another tour and another large group experience. Also, since
he is trying to build his business, he is still quite flexible in his
scheduling and itineraries. He really made a perfect agenda for us.

Thanks again for all your assistance.

Have a healthy and happy year 2001.
